Making a statement in the green movement, Suzy Amis [James Cameron's wife] showed up to the Oscars in an eco-friendly gown. Made of Ahimsa silk, the eco-dress is completely sustainable. This type of silk is derived from cocoons without any harm to the creatures living inside. The  “Avatar blue”, zero waste silk gown was designed by Michigan State University student Jillian Granz. It was won in part of the “Red Carpet Green Dress” contest which aimed to raise money for an elementary school. Of the environmentally-friendly dress Amis said, “Jillian’s design was stunning and had that something special. It’s a beautiful combination of sustainability and style.” There you go folks, Hollywood’s wife-in-the-spotlight wearing a high-fashion, green dress. Eco-fashion has made a comeback!
